Diplomats Briefed on Minority Issues in Bangladesh

Interim government’s Foreign Affairs Advisor, Md. Touhid Hossain, briefed foreign diplomats stationed in Dhaka on issues concerning religious minorities. Representatives from various countries, including India and Pakistan, attended the meeting, which was held this afternoon at the State Guesthouse Padma. Following the meeting, the Foreign Affairs Advisor briefed journalists about the discussions.
The briefing was attended by representatives from the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Germany, Japan, China, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Singapore, Pakistan, and others. Officials from international organizations and the United Nations working in Bangladesh were also present.
During the briefing, the Foreign Affairs Advisor stated that certain segments of the Indian media have propagated misleading information about Bangladeshi Hindus, which was clarified to the diplomats. He further alleged that a specific group is actively spreading misinformation and urged everyone to remain vigilant against such propaganda.
