No denial of security crisis, Asif Nazrul acknowledges failure

Legal advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul has acknowledged failures in addressing the country’s current situation, stating, “We cannot deny our shortcomings. The law and order situation leaves no room for complacency. However, we are making efforts and engaging in self-reflection. We have a strong drive and determination to overcome these failures, and every setback is met with intense efforts to improve.”
He made these remarks while speaking to journalists before attending a workshop on “Law Enforcement with Emphasis on Human Rights and the Environment Amid Changing National Conditions” at the PTI auditorium in Rajshahi on Monday afternoon.
Dr. Nazrul noted that they are working with a system that has been severely damaged, particularly within the police administration and judiciary, and that rebuilding will take time.
He further highlighted concerns about the influence of a “fallen fascist force” with access to massive financial resources, stating that such funds, combined with malicious intent, can destabilize law and order. He assured that the issue is being addressed, with the home affairs advisor working to improve security conditions, and discussions being held in coordination meetings.
Regarding the ongoing judicial process, he emphasized the importance of ensuring that individuals with strong evidence against them face appropriate legal action while innocent individuals are not subjected to unnecessary harassment.
