He said they have inspected all the roads from where Tarique Rahman will get into a vehicle and travel onward. The route he is expected to take to Evercare Hospital and then to his residence has also been reviewed.
Salahuddin Ahmed said he had been coordinating with all relevant parties in connection with Tarique Rahman’s arrival. He added that the party’s security team has held separate discussions with the appropriate government authorities regarding Tarique Rahman’s security arrangements.
Tarique Rahman’s mother and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital since November 23. Upon returning to the country, Tarique Rahman may go directly to the hospital to visit his mother. For this reason, Salahuddin Ahmed said that suitable venues near the airport and Evercare Hospital are being considered to welcome him after his arrival.
According to multiple BNP sources, after arriving in Dhaka, Tarique Rahman will stay at house number 196 on Gulshan Avenue. The residence is located next to “Firoza,” where BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been living for several years.
