Army Chief and Wife Extend Best Wishes to Khaleda Zia at firoza

On Thursday, January 2, at around 8:30 PM, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-uz-Zaman visited BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at her residence, “Firoza,” in Gulshan, Dhaka. He left shortly after 9 PM.

 

According to BNP Chairperson’s media wing member Shairul Kabir Khan, the Army Chief inquired about Khaleda Zia’s health during the visit. He was welcomed by Major General (Retd.) Fazle Elahi Akbar, a member of BNP’s advisory council. The Army Chief also prayed for her swift recovery.

 

Khaleda Zia, aged 79, suffers from multiple health issues, including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, arthritis, kidney complications, diabetes, and vision problems. The medical board overseeing her care has long recommended advanced treatment in London. Reports suggest she may travel to the UK for medical care later this week.

 

Following her release on August 6, many diplomats and notable figures have visited her at “Firoza” under changing circumstances.
