BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, along with two senior leaders, has been invited to the National Prayer Breakfast on behalf of the new U.S. President, Donald Trump. On Friday, January 10, BNP’s press wing confirmed the invitation.
Tarique Rahman, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury received invitations, with Mirza Fakhrul acknowledging receipt of his invitation letter the same day. The event, organized under the leadership of the U.S. Congressional Congress, is set to take place on February 5-6 in Washington, D.C.
The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event held in Washington, D.C., typically on the first Thursday of February. Founded by Abraham Vereide, the event consists of meetings, luncheons, and dinners, drawing around 3,500 participants annually, including guests from over 100 countries. It serves as a platform for discussions on prayer, politics, business, and other significant topics, making attendance a priority for U.S. presidents.
