Interim government chief advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is set to hold an all-party meeting with political parties and stakeholders to finalize the July uprising declaration. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the chief advisor’s official residence, Jamuna.
However, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will not participate in the meeting. Sources indicate that Salahuddin Ahmed, a member of BNP’s standing committee, will be present. Representatives from Jamaat, Ganatantra Mancha, and other political groups, as well as individuals from various professions, are expected to attend. Members of the advisory council, including Dr. Yunus, may also join. This crucial meeting is likely to determine when the declaration will be announced.
According to the press wing of the chief advisor, all parties have been invited, and a draft of the declaration has already been sent to political parties.
Previously, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens’ Committee announced plans to release the declaration on July 31. However, the event was canceled due to opposition from BNP, forcing anti-discrimination groups to withdraw their plans.
