BNP’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, commented that the election and reforms are being strategically pitted against each other. Speaking at the iftar and prayer gathering of the 12-party alliance on Saturday, March 22, he stated that democracy means voting fearlessly, and that the election and reforms should not be opposed but rather seen as a continuous process. He emphasized that reforms are an ongoing process, not something that ends.
Tarique also stressed that while political differences are natural, unity is essential for building a democratic nation. He reminded everyone that the same unity that ousted authoritarianism must be preserved to implement reforms. He called for collective efforts to implement these reforms and underscored the need to maintain unity to prevent fascism from gaining any ground.
