BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that the country has now entered the “electoral tunnel” following the London meeting. Speaking to reporters on Monday (June 23) after a liaison meeting between BNP and Gono Forum, he noted that the uncertainty surrounding the election has been resolved after the discussions in London. According to him, the meeting between Dr. Muhammad Yunus and Tarique Rahman paved the way for an assurance of elections in February, which has sparked hope among the people. The announcement of elections in February has cleared doubts about whether the election will take place.
In response to a question regarding former CEC Nurul Huda’s involvement with mob justice incidents, Amir Khasru said BNP firmly stands against mob activities and will take action if anyone within the party is found to be involved.
Later in the evening, the BNP liaison committee also held a meeting with NDM.
