BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated that individuals involved in terrorism, massacres, or corruption will not be allowed to join the BNP. He made this remark during a press briefing at the Thakurgaon Press Club on Tuesday, December 24, after distributing winter clothes to the underprivileged.
When asked about reports of several Awami League leaders joining the BNP, Mirza Fakhrul responded that he was unaware of such developments. However, he emphasized that the party’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, has instructed that no one involved in atrocities will be accepted into the party.
Regarding solutions to the nation’s issues with corruption and authoritarianism, Mirza Fakhrul highlighted the need to establish democracy, ensure governance by elected representatives, and run the country through a legitimate parliament. He noted that he saw no alternative to these measures.
