Dr. Muhammad Yunus Holds Meeting with Police on National Security

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus held a meeting with 127 police officials of various ranks to discuss the country’s law and order situation. The meeting began at 11:15 AM on Monday, March 17, at the Chief Adviser’s office in Tejgaon, where he presided over the discussions.
A day earlier, at a regular briefing at the Foreign Service Academy, Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Mazumdar stated that there was growing public concern regarding law and order. In response, the Chief Adviser scheduled a meeting with police officials from across the country.
The meeting included police superintendents and senior officials, such as metropolitan commissioners, range DIGs, and crime team members. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) delivered the welcome speech, outlining initiatives taken since August 5 to address security challenges. Officials also briefed the Chief Adviser on efforts to restore public confidence in law enforcement.
Additionally, it was announced that Police Week 2025 is scheduled for April 29, where the Chief Adviser will deliver an address. Monday’s meeting served as a preparatory session to provide law enforcement with key directives ahead of that event.
