Chief Adviser directs police to prepare for elections

Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has directed authorities to take early initiatives to ensure a peaceful election.
During a meeting on Wednesday with the Home Affairs Adviser and relevant officials, he emphasized the need for proactive measures. This follows his discussion on Monday with field-level police officers, where they highlighted their challenges and needs. In response, today’s meeting focused on addressing these concerns and preparing for the upcoming election.
The Chief Adviser issued several directives, including considering the removal of the ceiling on risk allowances, procuring 364 new pickup trucks and 140 prisoner vans, and ensuring funding for police infrastructure projects that are less than 70% complete. He also instructed the allocation of funds for acquiring land for 65 police stations currently operating in rented buildings and proposed interest-free loans for police officers at the SI and ASI levels to purchase motorcycles.
Additionally, he emphasized classifying district police units based on performance, ensuring measures to enhance efficiency in underperforming regions.
