Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus is set to leave for Doha, Qatar, on Monday for a four-day official visit at the invitation of Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. During the trip, he will attend the “Earthna Summit 2025.” According to Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumdar, Dr. Yunus is also expected to meet with the Qatari Emir during the visit.

He will be accompanied by Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain, Energy Advisor Muhammad Faozul Kabir Khan, and Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan.

For the first time in the country’s history, four female national athletes will join the Chief Advisor as part of his delegation. These athletes include footballers Afida Khandaker and Shaheda Akhtar Ripa, and cricketers Sumaiya Akhtar and Sharmin Sultana.

Held under the theme “Building Our Legacy: Sustainability, Innovation, and Traditional Knowledge,” the Earthna Summit—being held for the second time—aims to highlight Qatar’s commitment to sustainable development by leveraging its traditional culture and unique environmental diversity amid a warm and arid climate.

The summit will serve as a platform to explore how traditional knowledge and modern innovation can be integrated to unlock new approaches to sustainability and foster a prosperous, inclusive future. It will take place on April 22 and 23 and will feature presentations, interactive panel discussions, workshops, and roundtable meetings.
