DSE Trading Increases by Tk 218 Crore

In the first week of the new year, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s leading stock market, saw an increase of Tk 2,791 crore in market capitalization. Weekly trading volume also rose by Tk 218.33 crore, as revealed in the DSE’s weekly market analysis.
During the week, total transactions amounted to Tk 1,392.49 crore, compared to Tk 1,174.15 crore in the previous week, marking an increase of Tk 218.33 crore. Market capitalization grew by 0.42%, ending the week at Tk 6,62,951 crore, up from Tk 6,60,160 crore in the prior week.
Two major indices also improved. The DSEX, the main price index, increased by 15.17 points (0.29%), while the DS30 index rose by 3.69 points (0.19%). However, the DSES index fell by 0.99 points (11.54%).
Average daily trading volume increased by Tk 54.59 crore (18.59%), reaching an average of Tk 348.12 crore per day, compared to Tk 293.53 crore in the previous week.
Throughout the week, 396 companies’ shares and mutual fund units were traded. Among them, 164 saw price increases, 182 faced declines, and 50 remained unchanged.
