On behalf of Lucky Sound, I am Lonic, wishing you all my heartfelt greetings.”
This opening line has now become common at weddings of Dhaka’s elite families and during special corporate occasions. Lucky Sound began its journey in November 2019, founded by a dream-driven young man, Md. Siddiqi Lonic.
Although Mr. Lonic started his career in 2005 as a freelance singer and guitar player, he stepped away from the music industry between 2011 and 2018 to pursue higher studies and build a professional career. After completing his BBA and MBA in Human Resource Management with top results from the American International University–Bangladesh, he held reputable positions in sales and HR departments at several major companies in the country, including the Bashundhara Group. As a skilled HR professional, he fulfilled every responsibility with notable excellence.
During this break from music, he continued to reflect on how Bangladesh’s live music scene could be transformed to a world-class standard. Being a musician himself, his heart naturally gravitated back to that industry. He envisioned presenting something unique in live music—something capable of elevating the country’s cultural landscape.
Finally, in August 2019, he made an abrupt decision to quit his corporate job. Years of observation had convinced him that Bangladesh did not lack event management companies—but it lacked quality logistics support, such as professional sound systems, lighting, truss, LED screens, and cameras. There was also a shortage of trained technical staff. And so, the idea of starting a logistics rental business took shape.
Lucky Sound began humbly with just two small speakers and one projector. Being a singer and musician himself, he initially worked mostly with artists. Early events were mainly household gatherings, family occasions, and institutional programs. Over time, he discovered that the growing wedding market of Bangladesh had huge potential, but lacked creativity. That realization led him to incorporate artist management as well.
From grand piano or sitar instrumental sessions to qawwali, folk, Rabindra, Nazrul, or classical performances by renowned artists—Lucky Sound curated a wide range of live musical experiences. When required, he arranged customized orchestras and even world-class choir setups.
Lonic has also been actively promoting talented young musicians through his live concerts, funded entirely by his own initiative.
Whenever Lucky Sound is hired for an event, Lonic sits with families or clients, listens to their needs, and designs a beautifully crafted musical presentation using his experience and skills. Even when budgets were tight, he often entertained audiences with just a guitar and a cajón. Many of these events brought him more bookings—step by step shaping his success.
He launched Bangladesh’s first online logistics and artist management service through the Lucky Sound Facebook page. So far, more than 100 events have been booked solely through online communication—without clients or representatives ever meeting face-to-face. Even expatriate Bangladeshis book Lucky Sound to entertain their families back home.
Starting in Dhaka, he eventually travelled across different parts of the country on client demand.
To raise social awareness about loopholes, fraud, and middlemen in the event and logistics sector, Lonic regularly writes on LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional platform. His posts have helped countless people. He also created a Facebook group for sound, light, and LED technicians, where he regularly shares skill development tips.
The journey wasn’t easy. Coming from a middle-class background, purchasing expensive logistics equipment was a struggle. His wife—a doctor—stood beside him, taking a bank loan in her own name to support his dream. His parents and in-laws also supported him throughout.
Though Lucky Sound initially handled family events, weddings, and school programs, the brand has become highly popular in corporate houses and industries over the past two years—especially at mid-range company sales conferences, picnics, day-outs, and garment factory occasions.
Lucky Sound has expanded beyond musical shows as well. It has transformed traditional styles of religious and cultural programs, attracting people of all faiths who seek unique arrangements for their special days.
Despite his success, this passionate young entrepreneur has not yet set up a formal office. He still manages everything from a garage in his home.
According to him: “A mobile phone, a laptop, a diary, and a pen—that is my office.”
He started his team with 4–5 underprivileged boys—some without fathers, some without mothers, some without families at all. They live with him, eat the same food, and are now skilled technicians. Lonic has long been working to ensure their rights, health, and education, as well as the welfare of others in the event logistics sector.
Lucky Sound continues to strengthen its logistics fleet with world-class lights, sound systems, and LED screens, steadily expanding its capacity day by day.
