Reform Commission Proposes City Government for Dhaka

The Reform Commission has put forward a proposal to establish a city government for Dhaka, incorporating nearby areas such as Narayanganj, Keraniganj, Savar, and Tongi. This announcement was made by the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing during a press briefing held at the State Guest House Jamuna.

 

Alongside this recommendation, the commission has suggested reorganizing the country into four provinces and revising the roles and titles of deputy commissioners (DCs). The proposed city governance structure mirrors the model used in Delhi, India.

 

The Public Administration Reform Commission formally submitted its report to Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus earlier today, with Chairman Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury and other commission members presenting the document to the government.
