Storms up to 80 km/h expected this evening in Dhaka and 13 other districts

Due to changing weather conditions, Bangladesh’s Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for 14 districts, including Dhaka, forecasting strong winds and thunderstorms by the evening of Monday, April 21. According to an official alert signed by meteorologist Md. Shahinul Islam, temporary gusts ranging from 60 to 80 kilometers per hour are expected to sweep through regions such as Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Barishal, Cumilla, Noakhali, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet. These gusts may be accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.
In response, authorities have instructed river ports in these areas to hoist warning signal number 2. Meanwhile, another bulletin from the weather office warns that unstable weather, including thunder, lightning, and strong winds, may persist across all divisions in the coming days. The frequency of rainfall is also expected to increase over the following week.
