After celebrating Eid with their loved ones, people from the southern regions of Bangladesh have begun returning to Dhaka via river routes. Many are choosing to come back before the end of the government holiday to avoid potential travel hassles.

From early Tuesday morning (June 10), several passenger vessels anchored at the Sadarghat launch terminal in the capital, with most returnees arriving from areas like Barishal, Bhola, Patuakhali, and Barguna.

Those returning to the city describe the time spent with their families during Eid as the sweetest part of the year, a brief period that helps them recharge from the year’s exhaustion.

Many families are also returning early not just to avoid travel troubles but to enjoy the peaceful, less crowded Dhaka during the post-Eid days.

At the same time, some people are leaving Dhaka after Eid to visit relatives in other regions. Travelers have expressed satisfaction as their journeys have remained smooth and hassle-free.
