Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, has said that people should cooperate with the police by providing information about criminals, and the police will not be lenient towards criminals in any way.

He made these remarks in a keynote speech at an interactive session held at the Zahir Raihan Cultural Center in Gendaria on Thursday (December 26, 2024) afternoon, which brought together police, students, and respected citizens of the Gendaria police station area.

The Additional Police Commissioner (CTTC) said that law enforcement is necessary to build a non-discriminatory state. With your cooperation, the police have once again stood up. I hope you will continue to support the police in performing their professional duties in the future. The people have high expectations of the police. To meet those expectations, the police and the people will work together.

He further said that the police are conducting ongoing operations against drugs, extortionists, and terrorists. You should cooperate with us by providing information about these criminals. Then we can take legal action against them.

In his welcome speech, Deputy Commissioner of Police of Wari Division, Md. Saleh Uddin, said that we need to increase our engagement with the people. We will no longer police with any weapons. We want to work with ordinary people to control crime. The police are working tirelessly to control drugs and other crimes. If you cooperate with the police, you will get the real police service you want. We want the relationship between the people and the police to remain intact.

Students, the public, and respected citizens of the Gendaria area present at the interactive session presented their various opinions and suggestions to the Additional Police Commissioner.

One of the respected citizens present at the meeting said that false cases should be stopped. We will be respectful of the law. We will follow the law ourselves and encourage others to follow the law.

The interactive session was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Police of Wari Division, Md. Saleh Uddin, and was attended by police officers of various ranks from the Wari Division, as well as leaders from various political, social, professional, and religious institutions, heads of educational institutions, and student movement leaders.
