The Amar Ekushey Book Fair is set to begin on February 20

Organised by the Bangla Academy, the Amar Ekushey Book Fair for next year will begin on February 20 and continue until March 15.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting on the dates of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026, held on Wednesday (December 17) afternoon at the Shaheed Munir Chowdhury Hall of the Bangla Academy. The information was later shared through a post on the Bangla Academy’s verified Facebook page.
The meeting unanimously fixed the inauguration of the fair at 11:00am on February 20.
The meeting was attended by Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Mofidur Rahman, Bangla Academy Director General Professor Mohammad Azam, and Dhaka University Proctor Professor Saifuddin Ahmed. Directors of the Bangla Academy, representatives of publishers, and members of law enforcement agencies were also present.
