Govt Allocates Tk 9 Crore for 32 Film Projects

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced that a total of Tk 90 million will be allocated as government grants for the production of 32 films. According to a press release issued on Tuesday, June 1, the selected projects include 12 full-length feature films and 20 short films.
Each full-length film will receive Tk 7.5 million, while each short film is set to receive Tk 2 million. The announcement was made through two official gazettes signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Mosammat Sharmin Akhter of the ministry.
The feature films selected for grants include Robinhooder Aschorjo Obhijaan, Mayer Dak, July, Ruher Kafela, Porotar Swad, Khowari, Jibon Opera, Jolojuddho, Kabirer Mukh – The Time Keeper, Kofiner Dana, Nawab Fozunnesa, and Jui.
The short films approved for funding are Mond-Bhalo, Felani, Jhuki’r Matra, Jiboner Gaan, Who Has Made Us Fly, Bhora Bador, 1230, Brindarani’r Angul, Ekti Cinemar Jonno, Dafon, Satar, Mangsho Kom, Gogon, Othithi, Boba, Advaita, Ashar Alo, Gorjonpurer Bagha, Where the Water Sleeps, and Oposhomoy.
The ministry clarified that the funds will be disbursed under specific terms and conditions mentioned in the official notification.
