Atif Aslam’s Father Passes Away at 77

Muhammad Aslam, father of renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, has passed away at the age of 77 after a prolonged illness. He died on Tuesday, August 12.
According to family sources, his funeral prayers will be held in Lahore’s Valencia Town, where relatives, friends, and well-wishers will gather to pay their final respects.
Following the news, numerous artists, colleagues, and fans expressed their condolences on social media.
Atif Aslam is among Pakistan’s most celebrated music icons, rising to fame in the early 2000s with the album Jal Pari. He later gained immense popularity as a playback singer in Indian cinema.
Beyond Urdu, he has performed in several other languages, earning prestigious honours such as the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and Lux Style Awards. He has also acted in the film Bol and was featured in Forbes Asia’s list of 100 top celebrities.
