A group named Jagrato Shikkharthi Bangladesh organized a protest rally and human chain this afternoon at the Raju Sculpture on Dhaka University campus, strongly condemning the reported desecration of Bangladesh’s national flag in India. Participants expressed outrage over the incident, which they described as a grave insult to the sovereignty and dignity of Bangladesh.
During the protest, speakers highlighted the symbolic significance of the flag, emphasizing that it represents the sacrifices of countless lives during the Liberation War of 1971. They called on the government to take firm diplomatic measures and demanded an official apology from the responsible parties. Placards and banners carried by attendees conveyed messages of solidarity and pride in the nation’s independence, alongside their condemnation of the alleged act. The event concluded with a pledge to uphold the sanctity of the flag and a call for greater vigilance to protect national symbols from such affronts.
