Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A. M. M. Nasir Uddin stated that the Election Commission (EC) aims to create an environment for fair elections by adhering strictly to laws and avoiding political involvement. He mentioned that the commission is working to meet the election timeline announced by Interim Government Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
Speaking at a program organized by the UNDP at the Election Commission headquarters in Agargaon on Sunday morning, where voter list updating equipment was handed over, the CEC expressed gratitude for UNDP’s support. Other EC members and officials were also present.
“We had requested the UNDP for assistance with the voter list updating process, and they responded promptly. We seek their cooperation throughout the entire electoral process. Like us, they are committed to ensuring a free and fair election,” said the CEC.
UNDP Resident Representative Stephen Liller highlighted that they plan to determine further assistance by consulting with political parties and other stakeholders.
At the event, the UNDP handed over 175 laptops, 200 scanners, and 4,300 bags for data collection during the voter list update.
