Bomb Threat on Plane, Passengers Safely Evacuated

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Rome to Dhaka received a bomb threat early Wednesday. The call came to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 4:30 AM.
Group Captain Kamrul Islam, the airport’s executive director, stated that maximum security measures were immediately implemented. The Boeing 787 aircraft landed safely in Dhaka at around 9:30 AM, and passengers were evacuated under the supervision of Air Force personnel.
The flight carried 250 passengers and 12 crew members, all of whom were safely escorted to the terminal. Meanwhile, Air Force teams secured the aircraft for further inspection.
Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Mofidur Rahman confirmed that the passengers and crew were safe. He also noted that a thorough luggage inspection was underway.
The flight had departed from Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome on Tuesday at 8 PM local time.
