The first phase of the 58th Bishwa Ijtema concluded this morning (2 February) with the Akheri Munajat, led by Maulana Zubayer Ahmed, the top leader of Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh and Imam of Kakrail Mosque. To accommodate the large gathering, educational institutions and industrial establishments in Tongi, Uttara, and nearby areas were closed. The final prayer began at 9:11 AM and ended at 9:35 AM, drawing thousands of devotees from across Bangladesh and abroad. Due to road closures enforced by Gazipur Metropolitan Police, many attendees positioned themselves along highways, alleyways, rooftops, and open spaces near the Ijtema ground. The Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway and surrounding areas were packed with devotees, while many others joined through live television and social media broadcasts. Despite no designated facilities for women, many participated from nearby locations. Sadly, five devotees passed away during the event. Authorities, including the Gazipur district administration and police, ensured smooth management, with only minor disruptions during the mass departure. Overall, the event concluded peacefully without major incidents.
