In Gazipur, Sarjis Alam, coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has issued a warning regarding the arrest of those responsible for attacking students and civilians at the residence of former minister AKM Mozammel Haque. Speaking at a protest on Saturday afternoon, Sarjis stated that if the perpetrators were not arrested by night, they would be forced to stand against them.

The protest began with a rally in Rajbari Upazila, followed by a road blockade in front of the district commissioner’s office. Sarjis accused Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League activists of roaming freely while threatening his supporters on social media. He held the interim government, Home Ministry, and police accountable, demanding immediate arrests.

The attack took place around 10 PM on Friday in the Dhirashram South Khan area of Gazipur Metropolitan City, where the residence of former Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque was vandalized. Clashes broke out between local Awami League activists and an enraged crowd, leaving at least 15 people injured. Some of the critically wounded were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, with three in serious condition.

In response, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and National Citizens’ Committee organized a protest at 12 PM on Saturday at Bhawal Rajbari field. The event was attended by Hasnat Abdullah, convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, and Sarjis Alam, chief organizer of the National Citizens’ Committee, along with lawyer Sakib, central committee member M. Soyaib, advocate Ali Naser Khan, and local leaders from various Gazipur units, including Master Anisur Rahman, Sumon Bari, and Nibir Yusuf.
