National Consensus Commission’s First Meeting Today Afternoon

The National Consensus Commission is set to hold its first meeting with political parties today, Saturday, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital. Interim government head Dr. Muhammad Yunus is scheduled to deliver a speech during the session, according to a statement from the Chief Advisor’s Press Wing.
Earlier, on Monday, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam stated that those involved in genocide, corruption, enforced disappearances, and killings would be brought to justice. He emphasized that most citizens desire a peaceful political environment, which the government aims to initiate. The first meeting of the National Consensus Commission with political parties, set for February 15, will focus on discussions based on six reform commission reports. This initial meeting will include all parties simultaneously.
Regarding discussions with BNP leaders, Shafiqul Alam noted that they stressed the importance of peace and stability in the country and urged the swift prosecution of those responsible for injustices and oppression.
