Enhanced law enforcement presence will be visible after evening: Home Affairs Advisor

In response to the rising incidents of snatching and robbery across the country, including the capital, Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced that law enforcement agencies would intensify their activities starting this evening. Speaking to reporters after a meeting of the Core Committee on Law and Order at the Secretariat on Monday, he stated that while the current security situation is “satisfactory,” there is still room for improvement. He noted that in the past, incidents like the one in Banasree would take two days to come to light, whereas now they are reported immediately. Acknowledging that minor incidents have always occurred, including recently, he emphasized discussions on preventive measures to ensure such events do not happen again. When asked about directives given to law enforcement, he assured that their increased activity would be evident by evening. Addressing public concern, he stated that the purpose of the meeting was to provide guidance and reassurance, instructing law enforcement to take immediate action. He concluded by saying that people would notice the impact of these measures later in the evening.
