Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman has urged military personnel to exercise restraint and avoid excessive use of force in handling the country’s current situation. He emphasized that any use of force should be minimal and executed with utmost professionalism. Speaking as the chief guest at the closing and award ceremony of the Bangladesh Army’s firing competition at the Savar Cantonment firing range on Monday, he called for patience and discipline among the armed forces.
General Zaman noted that while the initial plan was to complete their task quickly and return to the cantonment, circumstances have required an extended commitment. He stressed the importance of maintaining patience and professionalism until an elected government is in place.
During the event, the Army Chief distributed awards to the winners of the competition. The 33rd Infantry Division secured first place, while the 7th Brigade Division was the runner-up. Senior military officials, including Major General Moin Khan, GOC of the 9th Infantry Division in Savar, were also in attendance.
