The Election Commission (EC) will celebrate National Voter Day on Sunday, March 2, while also releasing the final updated voter list. EC officials confirmed that, as in previous years, the finalized voter roll will be published on this occasion, which could serve as the basis for the upcoming 12th National Parliamentary Election.

This year, the commission has decided to invite coordinators of anti-discrimination movements to the event. The committee responsible for organizing the celebration, chaired by the Director General of the Election Institute, SM Asaduzzaman, outlined the plans in an official report. Activities will include rallies and discussion sessions at district, sub-district, and central levels, with the main event taking place at the Election Commission headquarters. The event will host 10 coordinators from anti-discrimination movements, representatives from the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and members of civil society observer groups. Additionally, a celebrity will participate in the rally.

To encourage voter registration, the commission will launch various promotional campaigns. The latest update reveals that the total number of voters in the country has reached 121,850,160, comprising 62,144,587 male voters, 59,704,641 female voters, and 932 transgender voters.

From January 20, EC data collectors visited households and gathered information from 5,090,037 individuals, who will be added to the voter list after completing the registration process.
