Fresh Notes Stopped for Eid, Recirculated Notes to Be Used

Bangladesh Bank has suspended the exchange of fresh notes among the public for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. Originally scheduled to begin on March 19, the distribution of new currency notes will no longer take place.

 

In a press release issued on Monday, March 10, signed by Joint Director Md. Anwar Hossain, the central bank confirmed this decision. Banks have been instructed to retain any fresh notes already stored in their branches without exchanging them. Additionally, all cash transactions should be conducted using re-circulated notes to ensure smooth financial operations.
