A special iftar gathering for hundreds of thousands of Rohingya has been arranged, while a designated center near the helipad will host meetings with community leaders, religious figures, educators, and women. Guterres will also tour Camp 18’s learning center, the Rohingya Cultural Memory Center, and international aid distribution points, prompting further infrastructure improvements. Security has been heightened, with multiple layers of protection managed by the army, police, APBn, and refugee relief officials. Local Rohingya, eager to welcome Dr. Yunus and the UN Secretary-General, express joy and anticipation. Officials view the visit as a historic event, reinforcing global solidarity with the Rohingya crisis and signaling continued international support for repatriation efforts. Despite Bangladesh sheltering over 1.3 million Rohingya, repatriation efforts have stalled, with no refugees returning to Myanmar in the past eight years.
