Public Gatherings Restricted Near Secretariat & Jamuna

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on gatherings, rallies, and processions in several key areas of the capital, including the Secretariat, the official residence of the Chief Adviser (Jamuna), and Shahbagh intersection.
According to a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali on Thursday, March 13, the directive takes effect immediately. The notice states that, in the interest of maintaining public order, the DMP is enforcing this restriction under the powers granted by Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76). Until further notice, all forms of meetings, rallies, public gatherings, and processions are prohibited in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat, the official residence of the Chief Adviser (Jamuna), and adjacent areas, including Hotel Intercontinental intersection, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection, and Mintu Road.
