The Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Nasimul Gani, has dismissed rumors about the potential declaration of a state of emergency in the country, calling it mere gossip. He made this statement after signing a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) between Bangladesh and Australia on March 24, aimed at repatriating Bangladeshis illegally attempting to reach Australia by sea. Responding to questions from journalists, he clarified that there is no truth to the rumors circulating on social media since the previous night. He assured that law and order across the country remains stable, with ongoing police activities ensuring security in the capital. Furthermore, he confirmed that the upcoming Eid holidays would not disrupt the nation’s security.
