Babar Ali: First Bangladeshi to Conquer Everest and Lhotse in a Single Expedition

Dr. Babar Ali has become the first Bangladeshi to raise the national flag atop Annapurna I, a Himalayan peak standing at 8,091 meters. He reached the summit on the morning of Monday, April 7, accompanied by his guide, Furba Angel Sherpa. A medical professional by training, Babar Ali is also a founding member and general secretary of the Chattogram-based mountaineering club, Vertical Dreamers. In 2024, he previously made history by conquering both Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, and Lhotse, the fourth highest, during the same expedition.
