Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A. M. M. Nasir Uddin has assured the nation that the Election Commission is committed to ensuring the participation of expatriates in the upcoming elections. He made this statement during the inauguration of a workshop on determining the voting methods for expatriate voters at the Election Training Institute in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Tuesday (April 8).

The CEC emphasized that although it may not be feasible on a large scale, the Commission is determined to pilot the process for expatriate voting. After extensive deliberation, the Election Commission is focusing on three methods: postal voting, which is already in place, online voting, and proxy voting.

He further stated that, similar to an interim government, the Election Commission is committed to facilitating voting for overseas Bangladeshis in the next election, taking into account the social and political realities, the educational qualifications of voters, and the circumstances of expatriates.
