Starlink Service Begins, A New Internet Experience in Bangladesh

Starlink, a satellite-based internet service provider, has officially launched its trial service in Bangladesh. The service is being used to broadcast the ongoing activities of the ‘Bangladesh Investment Summit’ held at the Hotel Intercontinental in the capital.
On Wednesday, April 9, during a session of the summit, Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus discussed measures taken to attract foreign investment and urged foreign companies to consider investing in Bangladesh. Representatives from several countries, including China, Korea, Switzerland, and the United States, have already expressed interest in investing across various sectors. Additionally, some foreign banks have pledged loans for Bangladesh’s economic development.
Earlier, on March 29, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) approved Starlink to begin its satellite internet service in the country. BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud stated that Starlink received approval in line with their commitment to start operations within 90 days. Foreign companies must register with BIDA to operate in Bangladesh, and Starlink has been granted this registration.
The internet service is being used for live broadcasting at the ongoing investment summit, and all participants will be able to access it.
