Technical students across Bangladesh have announced a nationwide grand rally on Sunday, April 20, to press for their six-point demand. The announcement came from Zobayer Patwari, a representative of the Technical Students’ Movement and a student of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute, following a protest under the banner “Rise in Red” on Saturday, April 19.

As part of the pre-declared program, students participating in the human chain tied red cloth at the entrance of Dhaka Polytechnic Institute. They chanted fiery slogans such as “Blood is on fire,” “Abu Sayeed, Mugdha – the fight isn’t over,” and “Forge the nation’s tools, rise once more.”

Students also staged the “Rise in Red” human chain in front of their respective institutions across the country, protesting an alleged attack on students during a rally in Cumilla. On Friday, students marched wearing symbolic funeral shrouds to emphasize the urgency of their demands.
