Storms & Rain Likely in 9 Regions by Evening

There is a possibility of storms and rain in nine regions of Bangladesh by this evening, according to a weather forecast issued by the Meteorological Department. The alert, signed by Assistant Meteorologist Afroza Sultana, mentions that storms may hit Faridpur, Madaripur, Barishal, Bhola, Noakhali, Cumilla, Lakshmipur, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. Winds may blow from the west or northwest at speeds of 45-60 km/h, accompanied by rainfall or thunderstorms. As a result, river ports in these regions have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number one.
Meanwhile, the 24-hour forecast from 9 a.m. today predicts scattered rain or thundershowers in parts of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, and isolated showers in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, and Barishal divisions. Temperatures across the country may rise slightly during the day and night.
