Christians around the world, including in Bangladesh, are observing Easter Sunday today, April 20—a significant religious celebration marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ. According to Christian belief, Jesus rose from the dead on this day, symbolizing victory over sin and death.

It is believed that Jesus was crucified unjustly by the Jewish rulers on Good Friday, and on the third day—Sunday—He was resurrected. The day is commemorated with special prayers and gatherings.

In Dhaka, multiple prayer services were held at the Holy Rosary Church starting early in the morning. Worshippers prayed for peace, the end of hatred and violence, and for the well-being and prosperity of the country. Special prayers were also offered for the success of the interim government, as well as for the establishment of democracy and good governance in Bangladesh.
