A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on retired Major General Hamidul Haque, former Director General of the Directorate General of Forces Intelligence (DGFI), and his wife, Nusrat Jahan. The order was issued on Monday, April 21, by Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain, following separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). According to the ACC, Hamidul Haque is under investigation for allegedly amassing illegal wealth through the misappropriation of public funds during his tenure. The commission informed the court that both he and his wife were attempting to leave the country amid the ongoing probe, prompting the request for a travel restriction. After reviewing the petition, the court granted the ACC’s request and barred the couple from traveling abroad.
