Cyclone-like Storm May Sweep Through 3 Districts by Tuesday Noon

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a cautionary alert predicting possible thunderstorms and rain, accompanied by strong gusts of wind over three districts. According to a weather bulletin signed by meteorologist Md. Omar Faruk, temporary gusty or squally winds at speeds of 45 to 60 km/h may sweep across parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet on Tuesday (April 22) before 1 PM. The winds are expected to come from the west or northwest, bringing rain or thunderstorms along with them. As a result, local river ports in the mentioned areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.

 

In a separate advisory, the meteorological office also indicated that over the next few days, various regions of the country may experience temporary gusty winds, lightning, and scattered rainfall or thunderstorms. Rainfall activity is likely to intensify across the country in the coming week.
