Elections won’t stall for reforms: CEC

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin stated on Thursday (April 24) that the Election Commission (EC) will not wait for reform proposals from the National Consensus Commission. He emphasized that the EC will proceed with election preparations using the authority and resources currently available to it. Speaking at a brief press conference held at the EC headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka, he made these remarks in the presence of Australian High Commissioner Susan Ryley.

 

The Australian envoy assured that Australia remains committed to supporting Bangladesh in organizing free and fair elections and is ready to provide assistance in this regard. Further details are expected.
