Despite occasional rainfall in different parts of the country, the intense heat continues to grip the nation, with temperatures soaring as high as 39°C under the scorching sun. Several districts are currently experiencing mild to moderate heatwaves. However, the weather office has forecast rain or thundershowers in parts of the country today, Saturday (April 26), by 6 PM.

According to the forecast, a low-pressure trough extends from southwestern Bangladesh across West Bengal into the northern Bay of Bengal. Under this system, isolated areas in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions may see temporary gusty winds along with rain or thundershowers today.

Meanwhile, the ongoing mild to moderate heatwave is likely to persist over the Rajshahi division and parts of Dinajpur, Jashore, and Chuadanga. Day and night temperatures across the country are expected to remain largely unchanged during this period.

Looking ahead to Sunday (April 27), isolated places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions may again experience temporary gusty winds and rain or thundershowers, with no significant change in temperature.

By Monday (April 28), scattered areas across all eight divisions—including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Chattogram, Khulna, Barishal, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Sylhet—may see similar weather, accompanied by gusty winds. During this time, daytime temperatures may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, and nighttime temperatures could also see a slight decrease.
