In a protest on Sunday morning, the injured participants of the July mass uprising blocked Shahbagh, demanding three key actions: the permanent banning of the Awami League, the implementation of the July Charter, and access to better healthcare.
The injured protesters, gathered at Shahbagh intersection with the July platform set up nearby, emphasized that they would not allow the July movement to fade away under any political banner. They firmly stated that the Awami League and its associates should never be rehabilitated, as they believe their rehabilitation is impossible.
During the protest, they called for immediate legal actions to permanently ban the Awami League, criticizing them for their ‘Indian collaborator’ remarks. They demanded swift implementation of health ministry announcements to ensure medical care and asked for the declaration of the July Charter on the streets.
The injured protesters warned that they would not leave the streets until their demands are met. This comes after the announcement made by legal advisor Asif Nazrul on May 10, stating that the Awami League’s activities would be permanently banned until its leaders are tried in the International Crimes Tribunal.
