Tension erupted in Baraigram, Natore, after a student leader from the opposition BNP’s student wing, Chhatra Dal, was seen inside an HSC examination center on Thursday (June 26). The individual, identified as Rakib Sardar, reportedly entered the Bonpara Degree College exam center shortly before the test began, according to Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Laila Jannatul Ferdous.
A photo circulating on Facebook showed Rakib speaking with students inside the exam hall, triggering widespread concern in the area. Authorities confirmed that this incident was a violation of Section 144, which prohibits unauthorized entry into the examination center. Legal action has been instructed against Rakib Sardar, who serves as the Joint Convener of Bonpara Municipal Chhatra Dal.
UNO Laila stated that during her visit to the center at 9:40 AM, only authorized personnel and students were present. However, she later learned that Rakib had entered the hall under the pretext of assisting a student with seating arrangements. A show-cause notice has been issued to the center secretary, Mizanur Rahman, and the Officer-in-Charge of Baraigram Police Station has been directed to take action.
In response, Rakib Sardar claimed he had accompanied his cousin to the center and had no intention of interfering with the examination. He admitted that entering the center was a mistake.
OC Golam Sarwar of Baraigram Police Station confirmed that steps are underway to detain the accused student leader.
