Storms at 60 km/h Likely in 6 Districts, Warning Issued

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning for stormy weather and thunderstorms, with wind speeds reaching up to 60 km/h, expected to affect six districts by Tuesday evening, July 8.
According to a bulletin for inland river ports valid until 6 p.m., temporary gusty or squally winds blowing from the south or southeast at speeds between 45 and 60 km/h may sweep across Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar. These areas are also likely to experience rain or thundershowers. As a precaution, river ports in the mentioned districts have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
In a separate update, the weather office forecasted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds across all divisions of the country until the evening. It also warned that parts of Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions could experience moderate to heavy or even very heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms with rain are expected to continue throughout the week nationwide.
