At the closing ceremony of the 3rd International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Applied Sciences at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in Mirpur Cantonment, Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman emphasized the need for moral values and discipline alongside technical expertise.

 

Delivering his address on Saturday (July 19), the Army Chief remarked, “Being a good engineer is not enough — one must also be a good human being. Only then can we truly serve the nation.”

 

He underlined the importance of nurturing humanitarian values and maintaining discipline to overcome global challenges and advance national development.

 

He further stated: “When we live by discipline, the nation benefits. Engineering education plays a critical role in driving development.”

 

The three-day international event hosted discussions on topics such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy, thermal engineering, manufacturing technologies, and space exploration. Prominent researchers and professionals from countries including the USA, UK, Canada, China, Japan, and Bangladesh participated in the conference.
