Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid has dismissed as baseless the recent allegations made—without naming names—by former government official A B M Abdus Sattar against several advisers. He has urged that any credible evidence of misconduct be submitted to the proper legal and investigative authorities.
The call came in a statement issued Saturday night (August 9), sent to the media by the Cabinet Division’s Public Relations Officer.
According to the statement, recent newspaper reports have come to the attention of the interim government in which former bureaucrat A B M Abdus Sattar accused several advisers—without identifying them—of wrongdoing.

“We firmly reject these allegations,” the statement read. “Making sweeping accusations without presenting evidence or naming individuals is irresponsible and undermines public trust.”
Sattar, a retired officer from the BCS Administration Cadre’s 1982 batch and personal secretary to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, claimed at an event on Friday that he possesses proof of large-scale corruption by at least eight advisers of the interim government. He further alleged that intelligence agencies already hold such evidence but that no action has been taken.
According to Sattar, important appointments and transfers cannot take place without involving these eight advisers—though he did not reveal any names.
The Cabinet Secretary’s statement stressed that the administration remains committed to transparency, integrity, and accountability. “If Mr. Abdus Sattar has credible evidence of misconduct, we urge him to submit it promptly to the appropriate legal and investigative bodies,” it said.
“Until such evidence is presented, we remind all stakeholders that public discourse should be based on facts, not speculation,” the statement concluded.
