For the past few days, people across Dhaka and other parts of the country have been struggling with intense heat. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted some relief, with forecasts of rain and thunderstorms across all regions.

According to the Met Office, the monsoon system is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the northern Bay of Bengal. There’s also a possibility of a low-pressure system forming in the northwest Bay of Bengal.

As a result of these weather conditions, temperatures have remained high nationwide. On Monday (September 1), Sylhet recorded the country’s highest temperature at 38°C, while Dhaka experienced a maximum temperature of 37°C.

The Met Office has forecast that daytime temperatures may drop by 1–2°C on Tuesday (September 2), although nighttime temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged. Temperatures are likely to stay stable over the coming days as well.

The department also warned that scattered rain or thunderstorms with temporary gusty winds are expected across all divisions. Some areas could see moderate to heavy rainfall in the next few days.
